Clifton "Cliff" Lee Skelcher, 77, a longtime resident of Carterville, peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 2:35 p.m., at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, surrounded by his beloved family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend, and his presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Texas or to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Willowrest Cemetery in Carterville, with Pastor Matt Brown officiating.
He was born on February 17th, 1947, in Flint, Michigan, to Cline A. and Marjorie (Kennedy) Skelcher. Cliff's love story with Carolyn A. (Lindsey) Skelcher, whom he married on February 17th, 1968, spanning 55 beautiful years filled with joy and companionship. Carolyn survives him, cherishing their enduring bond.
