Charles Tow, 86, of Herrin, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024 at his home in Herrin.
Charles was a Tool & Die Maker for General Electric in Carbondale.
Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in as chauffer driving in President John F. Kennedy's funeral procession.
Charles loved to play golf at Crab Orchard Golf Course in Carterville.
Charles was born March 4, 1938 in Herrin, IL to John W. & Sylvia M. (Townsend) Tow.
Charles married Rose M. Hanley on September 6, 1957 in Energy, IL. She survives him at their home in Herrin.
He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Pam & Steve Battaglia of Zeigler, IL; son, Keith Tow and Alma Ticer of Cambria, IL; three grandchildren, Jamie Tow, Ryan Tow, and Bailey Griggs; four great grandchildren, Everlee Tow, Sabel Jo Griggs, Ellet Griggs, and Raiden Price; sister, Ruby Leeper of Carbondale, IL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Terry & Terri Hanley of Carterville, IL, and Gary & Laura Hanl
