MARION - Nancy Sue Trevathan, 94, of Marion, passed away peacefully, at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, June 23, 2024, at her daughter's home in Murphysboro.She was born on Dec. 15, 1929, in Herrin, to James Oswald "J.O." and Minnie (Brockschmidt) Jones.Nancy attended Marion schools and graduated from Marion Township High School in 1947. She attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where she received a bachelor's of science degree in business administration in June 1951.Oct. 27, 1951, Nancy married Bill Young in Marion, and to their union a daughter, Merinda "Rindy" was born. Nancy and Bill enjoyed 25 years of marriage before his death on Nov. 9, 1976.Nancy later married Irvan "Irv" Trevathan on April 7, 1979 in Marion. They enjoyed almost 27 years of marriage before his death on March 26, 2006.Nancy was employed in 1967 by Williamson County Special Education District where she worked in the district office.
