Margaret E. "Marge" Mangan, age 84, of Marion, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 3:42 a.m. at The Anchor of The Voyage of Marion.
She was born on September 28, 1939 in Cook County, IL, a daughter to Edmund L. and Genevieve M. (Green) Mangan.
In her elementary school years, Marge attended Catholic school in the Chicago area. During her junior and senior years of high school, as was expected of all the cousins in the family, Marge went to work for Cuddle's Huddle, a restaurant in Riverdale, IL that was owned and operated by the Mangan family. She graduated from Bremen High School in Midlothian, IL in 1957. From 1959 until 1964, Marge worked for James Thompson in the Illinois Attorney General's Office in Chicago. Her superior skills in shorthand and typing helped her to advance rapidly in her job.
