Larry Dee Campbell, Sr., 81 of Herrin, passed away 8:48 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at the Herrin Hospital in Herrin.
Larry was the co-owner of Campbell Brothers Garage and Towing in Herrin and formerly worked as a coal miner and Teamster.
Larry was a member of Herrin's Prairie Masonic Lodge # 693. He was also a member of the Herrin Elks Lodge #1146, Fin & Feather Club, Teamsters Local 347 and the UMWA.
Larry was a beloved husband, father, Poppy and brother, who had a heart as big as his chest. As busy as he was, he always found time for his family.
Larry loved stock car racing, camping, and fishing.
Larry was born August 7, 1943 in Herrin, Illinois to John Vick and Marie (Mooney) Campbell.
Larry was united in marriage with Diana Waller on June 23, 1962 at the Chittyville Methodist Church. She survives him at their home in Herrin.
He is also survived by his children, Lori Campbell of Herrin, Larry Jr. & Tammy Campbell of Herrin, Chad & Jeri Campbell of Herrin
