Dallas E. Tomes, 86, of Johnston City, passed away at 3:41p.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at St. Louis University Hospital.
Dallas was born on May 12, 1938, in Decker, Kentucky to Jasper Tomes and RoLinda Gidcomb. He was united in marriage to Rhodicie Carpenter on September 29, 1956, in Louisville, Kentucky. They shared 65 years of marriage together, before she preceded him in death on December 10, 2021.
Dallas was retired having been a pressman for Fawcett Printing in Louisville, Kentucky and World Color Press in Salem, Illinois
Dallas enjoyed working on cars and watching NASCAR. He also enjoyed working outside in his yard and kept one of the nicest yards in town. Dallas loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with all of them.
Dallas is survived by his two children, Dinah (Bob) Dobbs of Ferges and Tommy (Val) Tomes of SC; five grandchildren, Robbie (Jen) Dobbs of IL, Chris (Rachel) Dobbs of TN, Tyson (Laura) Mulvaney of MO, Lauren (Daniel) Francis of SC, and Lukas Tomes of
