Lillian Dean Church, age 96, of Marion, IL, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025 in Reflections Memory Care of Herrin.
She was born in Eagan, TN, the seventh of thirteen children to John and Lula (McFarland) Lewis.
Dean was very proud of her heritage, growing up from humble beginnings in the mountains of East Tennessee. It was during these formative years that instilled in her a great work ethic. As a young woman, she met the love of her life, Donald Wayne Church. They quickly fell in love and dated for three years. They were married on April 19, 1947 by a Baptist minister in Corbin, KY. Together they shared over sixty-one years of marriage until he preceded her in death on August 8, 2008.
Dean spent many years teaching cosmetology in Harrisburg, IL – a career she enjoyed for over twenty years.
Dean was a member of Aldersgate Global Methodist Church of Marion. One of her favorite hobbies was working in her yard. She took pride in working alongside her husband in creating a beautiful
