Raymond E. Kemerling, age 77, of Creal Springs, IL, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 5:12 p.m. in Deaconess Illinois Medical Center in Marion, IL.
He was born on December 16, 1947 in Kewanee, IL, to Robert and Eva (Van Dyke) Kemerling.
Ray was born and raised in Kewanee, IL and was a graduate of Kewanee High School in the Class of 1966. In August of 1966, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served until March of 1970. During his time in the Navy he spent eighteen months in Vietnam. After his period of faithful service, he was honorable discharged.
Ray married his high school sweetheart, Jayne M. Johnson on June 30, 1968 and together they have shared over fifty-six years of marriage.
After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Ray began working for Caterpillar Tractor in Aurora, IL where they lived for thirty-five years. He retired in October 2001 from Caterpillar and began driving a school bus. After moving to southern Illinois in 2006, he continued to d
