Mary Ella Denton, 96, of Marion, was welcomed into Heaven, at 10:11 p.m., Thursday, February, 20th, 2025, at Herrin Hospital.
Mary was born on March 21, 1928, in Marion to Charles Wesley and Geraldine (Norris) Bowman. She married the love of her life, Hyson Woodard Denton on January 8th, 1955, at Block Chapel Church in Marion. They shared almost 70 years of marriage together, before he preceded her in death on January 7th, 2025.
Mary was a 1946 graduate of Marion High School and was retired having been a long time medical receptionist for Dr. Morgan's Office. She was an active member at the First Church of God in Marion, and enjoyed gardening, canning, and sewing.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James "Jim" and Myrna Denton of Marion; two grandchildren, Scott Justin Denton of Selina, KS and Ashley (Andrew) Young of Chapel Hill, TN; two great-grandchildren, Kate Young of Chapel Hill, TN and Kaylee Denton of Louisville, IL; two sisters-in-law, Jan Bowman and Carrie Van B
