Deborah Marie Cornell, age 76, of Herrin, passed away at her home on Saturday, March 22, 2025.
Deborah was born Wednesday, February 2, 1949 in Herrin, a daughter of Robert and Melrose (Jurries) White. She married the love of her life, Gregory Allen Cornell, in Herrin on August 14, 1971. He preceded her in death on July 22, 2024.
A devoted mother, loving grandmother, and cherished friend, her unwavering dedication to family, her infectious enthusiasm, and her generous spirit inspired countless lives. Deborah spent her life nurturing and caring for others. Prior to her retirement, she worked with special education students, leaving a lasting impact on their lives. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. She adored her family, reveling in the simple joys of life, from shopping trips to Wal-Mart to lazy afternoons with her grandchildren.
